A school-record 84 Fresno State student-athletes earned 2018-19 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors, one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the conference.

The 84 selections surpasses the Bulldogs’ previous record of 82 selections, set during the 2015-16 academic year.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better, and must have participated in at least one varsity competition in a Mountain West-sponsored sport.

Fresno State was led by the women’s track and field and swimming and diving teams, which each notched 11 selections. Women’s soccer followed with 10 honorees, while softball and women’s basketball both landed eight selections. Women’s golf tallied six awardees, and football led all men’s teams with five selections.

The Bulldogs have recorded more than 70 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete awards in six of seven academic years as members of the conference, and have recorded 80 or more selections two times. To see the full list of Scholar-Athletes, visit gobulldogs.com.
