Director to lead discussion following CineCulture screening of ‘Emma Peeters’

Belgian director and screen-writer Nicole Palo will lead a discussion following a free screening of her film “Emma Peeters” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Peters Education Center Auditorium (next to the Save-Mart Center in the Student Recreation Center Building). In the film, renowned French-Canadian actress Monia Chokri as Emma who is about to celebrate her 35th birthday.

As a failed actress, Emma’s life achievements have thus far been quite unremarkable. She becomes fixated on the idea that she will commit suicide on her birthday. The film is in French with English subtitles. Parking is free after 4 p.m. on Fridays with no permit necessary in Lots P3 or P2.

The screening is sponsored by the French Program and the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures.
