California State Treasurer Phil Angelides will visit the California State University, Fresno campus today (Jan. 20) on the third stop of a two-day statewide tour to highlight the economic contributions of California’s world-renowned public higher education system.

The Treasurer has asked the university for a tour of Fresno State’s applied agriculture research programs and for a briefing on how the university partners with business to serve the area.

Joe Bezerra, executive director of the California State University Agricultural Research Initiative (ARI) and director of operations of the California Agricultural Technology Institute (CATI) at Fresno State will make a brief presentation. Fresno State President John D. Welty will welcome the Treasurer.

When: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Where: Viticulture and Enology Research Center – Fresno State

2360 E. Barstow Ave.

Located between Cedar and Maple Ayes.

Camera trucks use the winery parking lot (located between the VERC building and the winery — middle driveway). ACCESS: Enter on the east side of the VERC building through the patio (see posted signs). Parking officers will be available for assistance.

Non-camera media vehicles use the VERC parking lot. ACCESS: enter through the main doors on west side.
