The CSU salary offer to the faculty union

The CSU has made an excellent compensation offer to the union that represents the faculty of the California State University. The salary offer, which was rejected by the union management, includes a 24.5 percent salary increase to be paid over the next three years, and CSU payment of 100 percent of the increase in medical insurance premiums over the life of the contract. The actual value of the CSU offer will be a 27 percent increase in salary during the next three years once the annual increases in the CSU offer are compounded.

The CSU wants to come to an agreement with the faculty union so its 23,000 faculty members can receive the salary and medical benefits they deserve. Formal Offer to California Faculty Association

In the meantime, the CSU has reached agreements or tentative agreements with eight other bargaining units, representing physicians, healthcare workers, administrative and technical support, academic support, trades and law enforcement.

Student fees

Regardless of any fee increases in the past, the CSU fees are among the lowest in the nation. The average fee among universities comparable to the CSU is $6,700 a year. CSU students attending school full-time pay on average only $3,200 per year. CSU students also pay no more than one-third of the cost of their education, consistent with the CSU’s longstanding policy.
