Variety – theater, animation, photography and screenwriting – spices the third week of public presentations starting Sunday in the California State University Summer Arts schedule at California State University, Fresno.

The program, which features two-week courses in visual and performing arts taught by experts in their fields, is on the Fresno State campus for its ninth straight year.

The master teachers appear in public performances, lectures and other presentations and their students make public appearances in culminating events at the end of each session.

The second two-week cohort of classes in the program begins Monday, but the public performance schedule starts with a theatrical performance by Paula Weston Solano at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at the John Wright Theatre in the Speech Arts Building. Solano is an actor, writer, solo performer and educator.

Tickets to her performance are $10-$15 (nonreserved) and $15-$20 (reserved seating).

Thursday, July 19: Brad Siberling, screenwriting lecture, movie screening; 8 p.m. Wahlberg Recital Hall (Music Building).

July 20: Andrew Gordon, animation lecture; 8 p.m. Concert Hall (Music Building).

July 21: Ngwabi and Bemrose, theater performance; 2 p.m. John Wright Theatre.
