Lunafest, the film festival by, for and about women, will be held for the eighth year at California State University, Fresno at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in the Satellite Student Union.

The traveling film festival is a fundraiser dedicated to promoting awareness about women’s issues, highlighting women filmmakers and bringing women together in their communities.

The film festival will highlight women as leaders in society, illustrated through 10 films by women filmmakers. The films range from animated shorts to fictional drama, and cover topics such as women’s health, body image, spirituality, relationships, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.

Admission is free for Fresno State students. Advance ticket prices are $5 for non-Fresno State students and $10 faculty, staff and general admission. Tickets can be purchased at Javawava located at 1940 N. Echo Ave. the Fresno State Women’s Resource Center in the University Center, room 125. Tickets at the door are $12 general admission. Parking restrictions will be relaxed in Lot P.

All the proceeds from Lunafest will go to the Breast Cancer Fund and the Women’s Resource Center.
