California State University, Fresno will host the eighth annual Mediator Appreciation Day 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, at the Satellite Student Union.

The Kremen School of Education and Human Development’s Mediator Mentors Program is a university-public school partnership where future teachers, counselors, social workers and school psychologists develop conflict resolution skills in school children.

Mediator Appreciation Day includes awards for two students from each mediation team who exemplify respect and service. A panel of leaders from participating schools will lead a discussion and there will be student-made mediation videos, campus tours, art activity and “Teacher Talk.”

Fresno State co-sponsors are University Outreach Services, the Bonner Family Foundation and the Kremen School of Education and Human Development Community Council. Community co-sponsors are Lowe’s and Home Depot.
