The Smittcamp Family Honors College at California State University, Fresno will host Honors Information Days on Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 for high-achieving high school seniors.

Honors College applicants must score 1,800 or above on the SAT, be in the top 10 percent of their graduating class or have a minimum overall GPA of 3.6.

The two Honors Information Days are separated by majors, so students must contact the Smittcamp Family Honors College office to register for the correct session.

Honors College students receive a President’s Honors Scholarship, which covers in-state registration fees, full room rent for those who choose campus housing in a residence hall and a laptop stipend.

The scholarship application will be available online at www.honors.csufresno.edu beginning Sept. 18. The postmark deadline to submit completed applications for the 2011-12 academic year is Dec. 9, 2010.

The Smittcamp Family Honors College began in 1998 with a $1 million gift from Earl and Muriel Smittcamp and their family, who are alumni and longtime supporters of Fresno State.
