Former President George W. Bush helped inaugurate a central San Joaquin Valley based education program involving Fresno State that could help military veterans qualify for jobs in agriculture.

Bush spoke to an estimated 3,000 people at the fundraising Ag Warriors Gala on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the World Ag Expo in Tulare.

Students, faculty and alumni of Fresno State’s Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology participate in the annual show, billed as the largest of its kind in the world.

The Ag Warriors concept is being weighed by officials at Fresno State’s Division of Global and Continuing Education, at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
