The Kennel Bookstore and University Student Union (USU) Productions at Fresno State will celebrate National Student Day 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3 in front of the bookstore. This national event was created by college bookstores across North America to recognize and encourage student volunteerism.

Community service by Fresno State students, faculty, staff and administration during the 2012-13 academic year exceeded 1 million hours for the fourth consecutive year.

There will be free giveaways and prizes for students attending the event. The bookstore will be handing out free National Student Day T-shirts courtesy of Pepsi. The bookstore will also hold a drawing for an iPad Mini courtesy of Auxiliary Services. Starbucks, AT&T, Pepsi, and PENTEL will provide free giveaways.

Several Fresno State organizations will be present to help celebrate and promote National Student Day including: The Division of Student Affairs, USU,  Associated Students, Inc., Student Involvement Office, Jan & Bud Richter Center, KFSR, Student Health Center, Student Recreation Center and University Courtyard.
