Dog Days orientation for spring semester transfer students

Dog Days: New Student Orientation will hold a spring session from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, for incoming transfer students who have been accepted to Fresno State for the spring 2014 semester.

Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Leon S. and Pete P. Peters Educational Center (Woodrow and Shaw avenues), where students will receive their materials for the day. Because of space limitations, incoming transfer students will not be able to bring a guest to orientation and there will be no guest program.

Participants can meet with academic advisers about their majors and receive priority registration for spring semester classes.

Students who wish to meet with Financial Aid or Admissions and Records should schedule time prior to the orientation. Campus offices are not open on weekends.

“Attending Orientation is an important step in making the transition to life as a Bulldog and is the best way to acclimate yourself as a new Fresno State student,” said Ken Ternate, coordinator of Dog Days in the Office of Advising Services. “While new transfer students may already be familiar with college, it is also an opportunity to learn about all of the policies and procedures that are unique to Fresno State.”

Registration fee for spring Dog Days is $20 per student and includes: facilities, program materials, administrative costs and staff salaries.
