About 1,400 volunteers from approximately 60 Fresno State student organizations raised $43,479.57 today for the annual Kids Day fundraiser, a joint effort between the Fresno Bee and KFSN Channel 30 to benefit Children’s Hospital Central California. Fresno State’s Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning participates by organizing volunteers from campus clubs, organizations, fraternities and sororities at intersections near the campus to sell the special edition of the Fresno Bee for $1 apiece. The top-selling Fresno State group with 20+ volunteers was Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, with sales of $4,864.90. Sigma Nu Fraternity came in second with $4,511.61. Among groups with less than 20 volunteers, the top selling organization was Phi Delta Theta, with sales of $1,503.50. The Geography Club was next with sales of $734.40.
