Kizzy Lopez, coordinator of the Renaissance Scholars Program at Fresno State, will be honored as one of five award recipients for the 2014 Child Advocate Award at the Comprehensive Youth Services luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. May 6 at Pardini’s Banquet Hall. The awards honor local child advocates to increase sensitivity and awareness of the plight of the many children in the Fresno area who are at-risk or who have experienced abuse, neglect or exposure to violence. Awardees have made a significant contribution to the health, welfare and/or development of vulnerable children. Proceeds support mental health and child abuse prevention services provided by Comprehensive Youth Services (CYS).
