Fresno State sociology Dr. Tania Pacheco will lead a public conversation about a New York grand jury’s decision not to indict a police officer in the death of Eric Garner from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. today in the Free Speech Area (north of Madden Library by the Peace Garden). Students will discuss race relations, police/community issues, the use of body cameras as a policy response and what individuals and groups can do to move this issue of police brutality and the deaths of black men forward, Pacheco said. Faculty have been invited to bring classes in session at that time.
