(UPDATE – 5 p.m. March 16, 2015):  Agricultural Sciences building closure continues Tuesday

The Agricultural Science Building will be closed Tuesday (March 17). Repair work will be underway tonight. No classes will meet in the building on Tuesday and students who have classes in the building are being advised to check with their instructor. (CLARIFICATION: classes are not being relocated. They did not meet but some instructors may have alternate assignments).

(UPDATE  – 4:45 p.m. March 16, 2015) —  A 50-plus year-old heat exchanger in the basement of the Agricultural Sciences building at Fresno State burst at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 16, leaking water throughout the basement. There are no safety issues, but all power is off in the building. Several classes are held in three classrooms, affecting approximately 2,000 students. Campus facilities personnel and an outside vendor are checking equipment and hope to have an assessment of damage by the end of the day. No immediate timetable has been set for reopening of the building but it will be closed at least through Tuesday.

Agricultural Sciences building power outage affects three classrooms (See UPDATES)

(March 16, 2015 – 11:30 a.m.) — The Agricultural Sciences building is closed today and possibly longer. Water damage in the basement of that building tripped an electrical distribution system feeder. There are no safety issues. Relocation of classes and employees is underway. Updates to follow.
