The 3rd annual Central Valley Dual Immersion Parent “Celebrating our Children” Conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at Ewing School in Fresno (4873. E. Olive Avenue).

Dr. Laura A. Alamillo, associate professor in the Kremen School of Education and Human Development and Dual Language Immersion classroom liaison for Kremen’s Huggins Center, will be the keynote speaker at the free, public event.

Alamillo also is coordinator of the Kremen Multiple Subject Program and a DISCOVERe Faculty Fellow at Fresno State.

The conference, which celebrates bilingualism and biliteracy, includes a talk about the Dual Immersion Program, workshops, student performances, refreshments, babysitting, raffle prizes and more.

Participants can learn about the Seal of Biliteracy for students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.
