AutismRun15Flier medA special 400-yard run for children will be one of the highlights of the Fresno State Autism Center’s first Fun and Run 5k as part of Autism Awareness Month, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25 on the Fresno State campus.

The run will begin at 10 a.m. after the registration hour from 9 – 10 a.m. in the center of Maple Mall, west of the Satellite Student Union, and continue throughout campus with a visit around the Autism Center (lab school on Keats and Jackson Drive).

The children’s 400-yard run is at noon, as well as carnival attractions including bounce houses, food trucks, game booths and a dunk tank for $1 per  ball featuring Fresno State President Joseph Castro (noon-12:30 p.m.), College of Math and Science Dean Andrew Lawson, and director of the Behavioral Sciences Institute Timothy Yeager among others.

The 5k is open to all ages. Race registration fee is $30 (cash) and includes a t-shirt. All proceeds benefit scholarships for families in need of the center’s services. Admission to the carnival is free and open to the public.
