A presentation about the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Congressional Internship Program (CHCI) in Washington, D.C., will be held 3­­­-5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, in the Henry Madden Library Auditorium, Room 2206. The program, which specializes in educating, empowering and connecting the next generation of Latino leaders in the United States, gives full-time, undergraduate students first-hand experience and knowledge of the nation’s legislative process. Interns are provided with a paid work placement in a congressional office or federal agency for 12 weeks, Feb. 7-May 2. Benefits also include housing, academic credit, round-trip airfare, leadership training and networking. Students from all majors who have an interest in public policy and have demonstrated leadership abilities are encouraged to apply. The application is available online . The deadline is Nov. 6.
