“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” continues the 2015-2016 University Theatre season at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Dennis and Cheryl Woods Theatre in the Speech Arts building (Room 135). The production runs through Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. daily except for a 2 p.m. matinee Nov. 1. There are no performances Monday, Nov. 2. Through a modern re-telling of one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, the central story of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” remains intact. With a royal wedding near, four lovers head into an enchanted forest where sorcery, explosive passion, dance and madcap antics provide a magical and often humorous exploration of romance, lust and marriage. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” contains mild sexual humor, haze and will use strobe lights. Tickets range from $10 to $17 and can be purchased online, at the Theatre Arts Box Office (noon-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and one hour before performances) or by phone at 559.278.2216.
