ED LUND adj med 600 Local artist Edward Lund, who died from injuries suffered in a bike accident during the Levi’s Granfondo charity bike race in Sonoma County yesterday, was employed as a gallery technician in Fresno State’s Department of Art and Design, Martin Valencia, department chair, confirmed today.

Mr. Lund, who was 54 and with the university about  six years, performed curatorial work in the Phoebe Conley Art Gallery and the College of Arts and Humanities Dean’s Gallery in the Music Building, both on campus, and for the Graduate Art Studios at the M Street Arts Complex in downtown Fresno.

“We at Fresno State are saddened by this tragic loss of our dear friend and colleague,” Valencia said. “Edward was a talented and enthusiastic individual who put his unique touch into the exhibits at university venues. Our condolences to his family and many friends and colleagues in the art world and beyond.”
