The Fresno State Police Department assisted in the pursuit and arrests of two suspects after the Fresno Police Department received two reports of armed robbery near Hoover High School this morning.  When city police identified a suspect, the agency requested assistance from Fresno State police and both departments worked together to immediately set up a perimeter and search for the suspects. The Fresno Police Department arrested the two suspects shortly after 9 a.m. and recovered the weapon. Fresno State Police Chief David Huerta said there was no observed threat to the University campus as the matter was resolved quickly through the joint operation. About the same time, police handled an unrelated car accident in the area on Barstow Avenue west of Cedar Avenue.
