Bulldog Express, a free campus shuttle service for students, faculty and staff with a Fresno State ID, began running this week.

Students were provided a formal announcement today for the project that is designed to alleviate parking stress and reduce the number of cars coming to campus, said Thomas Gaffery, parking and transportation manager for the Fresno State Police Department.

“With over 10 percent of students living within one mile of campus, the service is part of the University’s many ongoing sustainability initiatives designed to reduce emissions,” Gaffery said.

Shuttle service will operate every 15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Friday during the fall and spring semesters. It will include five stops: Campus Pointe, the Save Mart Center parking lot, Campus Drive near the North Gym, Bulldog Lane and Greek Row on Millbrook Avenue west of Bulldog Stadium.

Future plans include improved signage for the shuttle and online tracking with real-time arrival estimates. Students will be able to park in the Save Mart Center lot and shuttle to class.
