The Fresno Athletic Hall of Fame and Fresno State will host 60 girls from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County on campus from noon-5 p.m., Saturday, March 5. The visit is designed to inspire and expose the local girls, who range from 12-18 years old, to new possibilities for their futures. Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) is the sponsor of this event, which begins with a luncheon at the University Dining Hall. The students will be greeted by mascots Timeout and Victor E. Bulldog III, and will be welcomed by President Joseph I. Castro and First Lady Mary Castro. Janee Young, former Bulldogs women’s basketball player, will deliver a keynote address. Young, a Lemoore High School standout, went on to play basketball at Fresno Pacific and Fresno State. The event includes campus tours and a panel discussion featuring Abigail Hudson, president of Associated Students, Inc.; Coreen Campos, CEO of Focus Forward; and current Fresno State Volleyball players.
