Fresno State’s new five-year Strategic Plan is complete and will guide the University’s direction as it implements bold, focused strategies designed to maximize student success, President Joseph I. Castro announced.

The Strategic Plan was developed by a committee representing campus constituencies, using input from students, faculty, staff and community members.

It includes a new mission statement for the University: “To boldly educate and empower students for success.”

“The heart of Fresno State is our students, and they deserve a University willing to Be Bold in delivering on the promise of student success,” said Castro.

The new Strategic Plan identifies four priorities to:

  • Enhance teaching and learning
  • Invest in our faculty and staff
  • Improve our physical and technological infrastructure
  • Engage with our community partners

Each priority has metrics designed to measure progress and success.
