Four students in Fresno State’s Department of Recreation Administration were awarded $250 scholarships by the City of Fresno Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Service (PARCS) to attend the recent California Parks and Recreation Society Conference. Through the efforts of PARCS Director Manuel Mollinedo, the funds helped with conference fees and related travel. The scholarship recipients are Jack Hettinger, Brenda Gutierrez, Abigail Jacobo and Shae Scott, who are recreation administration majors with an emphasis in community recreation and youth services. They attended the conference March 8-11 in Long Beach. The scholarships are part of a Fresno PARCS partnership to help Fresno State produce graduates who will serve in the profession.
