Fresno State’s Army ROTC ends the spring semester with three free, public events. The annual Legacy Awards Presentation for Cadets will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, in the Alice Peters Auditorium of the Peters Business Building. Honored veterans will present awards to cadets for academic, military and athletic excellence. At 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, State Sen. Tom Berryhill will present a Senate Resolution to Major Boyce Buckner and Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro for the Department of Military Science and Leadership, Army ROTC. The event will be on campus at the Veterans Memorial located in the Maple Mall southeast of the Thomas Building). The Spring 2016 Fresno State Army ROTC Commissioning Ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 20, at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District (808 4th St.) in Clovis. The battalion will commission eight new second lieutenants into the U.S. Army. Guest of honor and speaker for the ceremony will be Maj. General Heidi Brown, director of Global Operations, U.S. Strategic Command. The Army ROTC is a program administered through the Department of Military Science in the Craig School of Business under the command of Maj. Buckner.
