More than 100 juniors and seniors from 39 high schools in the Central Valley and beyond will participate in the LIFT demonstration, a hands-on project in which they will collectively pull strings connected to a platform to learn the result of teamwork, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, in the Peace Garden on campus. The demonstration is part of the first Central Valley Emerging Leaders Summit that began Aug. 8 at Fresno State. The summit was designed to inspire area high school students who have leadership potential and provide tools and strategies to take back and use at their high schools and in their communities.

During the free, three-day, two-night camp, students have heard from faculty and community members, engaged in hands-on activities, participated in a service project and networked with current Fresno State student leaders while experiencing on-campus living and dining.
