About 5,500 new students (3,350 freshman and 2,150 community college transfers) have been invited to participate in the University’s New Student Convocation at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the Save Mart Center. Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro, other University officials and faculty and staff will welcome the new students. The Bulldog Bash After Party follows the convocation inside the Student Rec Center’s two basketball gyms. Students can get a free Fresno State T-shirt and other prizes.
