CineCulture presents “Ocean Heaven (Hai yang tian tang)” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, in the Peters Education Center Auditorium at the Student Recreation Center (5010 N. Woodrow Ave.). “Ocean Heaven” (2010) is about a terminally ill father who must prepare his special-needs son for a life without him. Departing from his usual action genre films, martial arts star Jet Li explores a father-son relationship that is tender and loving. This film foreshadows a true-life challenge in Jet Li’s own life that he struggles to deal with today. The 96-minute film is in Mandarin with English subtitles. All CineCulture events screened on campus are free and open to the public. Parking is free after 4 p.m. on Fridays. INFO: Dr. Mary Husain at mhusain@csufresno.edu or visit the CineCulture website.
