Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) distributed computers to various community recipients as part of the Touch the Community Grant from today (Sept. 30). Computers were distributed to the Wesley United Methodist Church, the El Dorado Park Resource Center, El Dorado Park Community leaders, KFSR, the Boys and Girls Club, Lutheran Campus Ministries and Stone Soup. The grant aims to help revitalize communities surrounding the Fresno State campus by purchasing software and operating systems for nine used ASI computers to be donated to the Community Revitalization Program. Those computers were then distributed throughout the neighborhoods. ASI and the Community Revitalization Task Force works with the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning on workshops to help recipients manage the donated equipment.
