Prior to the Housing Market Symposium at Fresno State, the National Association of Home Builders will present its Defender of Housing Award to Valley congressmen Jim Costa and David Valadao at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in the Peters Business Building (Room 192) on campus. The National Association of Home Builders is a federation of more than 700 state and local associations that works to ensure all Americans have access to safe and affordable housing. The congressmen are being recognized for their achievements in supporting the building industry and supporting citizens in their pursuit of home ownership. Congressman Devin Nunes is also a recipient of the award, but he will not be present. The biannual award recognizes legislators who demonstrate support for housing and support for issues in the industry. Friday’s free, public housing symposium, during which the awards will be presented, is coordinated by the Gazarian Real Estate Center of the Craig School of Business at Fresno State.
