The second annual Top Dog Talks will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today (Oct. 13) at Maya Cinemas, located at Campus Pointe. Reservations are full for the free, public event presented by the Fresno State Alumni Association to recognize its 2016 Top Dog recipients. It kicks off the homecoming weekend, which includes the Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala on Saturday night where 14 outstanding alumni will be honored. For today’s Top Dog Talks, seven of Top Dog alumni will participate in short talks similar to the renowned TED talks format. Speakers include James Brumm, the 2016 Distinguished Alumnus; Valerie Vuicich, recipient of the Arthur Safstrom Service Award; Dr. Janice Emerzian; Lois Tarkanian; Raj Beasla; Anthony Rubino; and Dr. Richard Whitten Jr. Each Top Dog Talks presentation will be five to seven minutes and streamed live through Fresno State’s Mountain West Network.
