The Sigma Theta Psi Breastie Besties Powderpuff football game to raise money for breast cancer research will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at O’Neill Park (Barstow and Maple

avenues). The ladies of Sigma Theta Psi and Lambda Sigma Gamma, two multicultural, academic and social sororities at Fresno State, will compete against each other at noon in the free, public event. Also featured will be several multicultural and informational booths such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the USDA-funded Women, Infant and Children (WIC) federal program, the American Red Cross and more. A special feature will be a halftime show at about 12:20 pm. featuring Fresno State fraternity members competing in a male cheerleader showdown for a trophy and a $100 donation to the charity of their choice. Participants for the ladies’ football and the male cheerleader competitions are being accepted until 8 p.m. today (Nov. 4). The team entry fee for male cheerleader teams is $25 (open to any organization or team of males) and the powderpuff football game (open to any team of females) is $50 with proceeds donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation as well as to breast research cancer conducted by Dr. Jason Bush, Fresno State biology professor. Q97.1 FM radio will provide live music.
