Tim Hamel, a physical education lecturer in the Department of Kinesiology at Fresno State, was named the president-elect of the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. He begins his three-year term in June. Most recently, Hamel served as the vice president of physical education for the organization, where he advocated for the advancement of the Every Student Succeeds Act, formerly known as No Child Left Behind. Considered the premier professional organization in California for those in the physical education field, the organization includes more than 1,500 members from across the state.
