In commemoration of the Memorial Day holiday honoring the men and women of the United States military who have died, the Fresno State campus will be closed Monday, May 29. The National Moment of Remembrance Act passed by the U.S. Congress in 2000 encourages all Americans to pause wherever they are at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day for a minute of silence to remember and honor those who have died in service to the nation. University flags (Save Mart Center, Thomas Administration Building and North Gym) will be posted at half-staff until noon, then raised for the remainder of the day, per recommendation of the U.S. Flag Code. The student-operated Gibson Farm Market  will be open over the weekend and from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday (the market’s summer hours begin June 1 with 8 a.m. opening time). Campus summer hours will resume at 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 30. For campus emergencies during the Memorial Day closure, contact the Fresno State Police Department at 559.278.8400.
