Fresno State’s CineCulture film series and Fresno Filmworks will present “Pop Aye” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the Tower Theatre (815 E. Olive Ave.). “Pop Aye,” by Singapore-born filmmaker Kirsten Tan, is a road film about a disenchanted architect named Thana who bumps into his long-lost elephant, Pop Aye, on the streets of Bangkok, Thailand. Traveling across Thailand, Thana and Pop Aye deal with countless mishaps and meet colorful characters along their life-changing journey. “Pop Aye” is not yet rated. It will be presented in Thai with English subtitles and is 102 minutes in length. Closed captioning and other assistive listening services are not available for this film.
