Author Maya Christina Gonzalez will present from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 25, in the University Dining Hall at Fresno State as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. Gonzalez’ presentation includes an overview of the United States children’s book industry in relation to voices from historically marginalized communities. She also looks at its impact on all children. Gonzalez illustrates the need for change through and beyond the industry, examining ways that educators and parents can effectively create new and inclusive possibilities for children.
