Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro will address the California State Board of Food and Agriculture at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.3 about recent federal changes to immigration policy which will end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The meeting, which will be live-streamed, is from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the California Department of Food and Agriculture in Sacramento (1220 N Street, Main Auditorium). The board will hear perspectives from stakeholders within the agricultural community and how DACA-related changes could impact the state and the families of California’s farmworker and immigrant communities. All CDFA board meetings are open to the public. Castro will represent the California State University and Chancellor Timothy P. White.
