CineCulture, Filmworks present ‘Lucky’ Oct. 13

Fresno State’s CineCulture film series and Fresno Filmworks present “Lucky” at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Tower Theatre (815 E. Olive Ave.). “Lucky” follows the spiritual journey of a 90-year-old atheist and the quirky characters that inhabit his off-the-map desert town. Acclaimed character actor John Carroll Lynch’s directorial debut, “Lucky” is at once a love letter to the life and career of Harry Dean Stanton as well as a meditation on mortality, loneliness, spirituality and human connection. Stanton passed away last month at the age of 91. The 88-minute film is not yet rated. Closed captioning and other assistive listening services are not available for this film. Tickets are $10 general and $8 for students and seniors. Visit http://FresnoFilmworks.org for full details. INFO: Dr. Mary Husain at mhusain@csufresno.edu or visit the CineCulture website.
