Lisa Maria Boyles, previously the communications specialist for the College of Arts and Humanities at Fresno State, has assumed the position of public information officer in University Communications, effective May 1. She replaces Tom Uribes, who retired in December.

Before joining the College of Arts and Humanities in June 2016, Boyles did communications, media strategy and social media for Granville Homes as part of the homebuilder’s marketing team.

She also worked at The Fresno Bee for almost 19 years, working her way up from reporting and editing positions for The Bee’s community publications while completing her bachelor’s degree at Fresno State. In 1999, she became a copy editor and page designer on The Bee’s news copy desk. She finished her career at The Bee as an associate editor with the editorial board from 2006 to 2012.

Boyles has lived in the Fresno/Clovis area since 1978, and graduated from Bullard High School. Before transferring to Fresno State to complete her bachelor’s degree, she studied at Fresno City College, where she was a photo editor and managing editor for The Rampage student newspaper. During her time at Fresno State, she was a contributing writer for both the Daily Collegian and Insight student newspapers.

Boyles will be the primary liaison between media representatives and campus stakeholders. Boyles can be reached at 559.278.5366 (office) and 559.246.1717 (cell). Please continue to send email queries to the following address: fsnews@listserv.csufresno.edu.
