Jim Boren, executive director of the Institute for Media and Public Trust at Fresno State, shared insights gleaned from his 48-year journalism career in a blog post where he lists seven tips for identifying fake news. The post is part of the institute’s recently launched blog where readers will be able to find content related to media literacy. Boren, the former executive editor of The Fresno Bee, said additional resources will be added to the site. The newly established institute is housed in the Department of Media, Communications and Journalism in the University’s College of Arts and Humanities.
