The Fresno State men’s rugby club will host teams from seven other universities at the annual Pacific Western Rugby Conference’s sevens team championship, Saturday, Nov. 3. Sevens is a variant of rugby in which teams are made up of seven players who play seven-minute halves, instead of the usual 15 players playing 40-minute halves. The tournament will be held at the Kinesiology Field, located behind the University Dinning Hall.

Gates will open to the public at 8 a.m., with the first game featuring Fresno State and UC Santa Barbara at 10 a.m.  Parking is available in in Lot P27, located by the residence halls. Club teams from Fresno State, Sacramento State, San Jose State, UC Santa Cruz, San Francisco State, Stanford, Nevada and UC Santa Barbara will be competing for the championship. The winner of the conference tournament will qualify for the USA Rugby Sevens College National Championship Tournament in May.
