Media, Communications and Journalism alumnus Victor Hernandez has been appointed to the board of directors for the Society of Professional Journalists. The appointment comes at a time when SPJ is reorganizing their board and after Hernandez served on the task force that proposed the restructuring.

Hernandez recently served as the director of media innovation for Banjo, a technology company that markets a real-time newsgathering and reporting platform to media organizations. Prior to Banjo, he spent 12 years at CNN, first as the director of domestic newsgathering, then later as a program manager tasked with developing emerging technologies.
