The Title IV-E Child Welfare Program at Fresno State will host its 20th annual Harry Specht Memorial Child Welfare Symposium, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Golden Palace Banquet Hall (2625 W. Vassar Ave.). The symposium “Lessening Trauma’s Hold in Today’s World: Confronting Trauma in Professional Practice” will feature keynote speaker, Tonier Cain, internationally recognized trauma care expert and founder of Healing Neen.

Other speakers and panelists include Dr. Iran Barrera, assistant professor in the Department of Social Work Education; Dr. Kizzy Lopez, assistant professor of social work at Fresno Pacific University; and Brian Semsen Sr., director of recreational resilience programs at Every Neighborhood Partnership.  Registration is $90 per person.
