Dr. John H. McClendon III, a philosophy professor at Michigan State University, will be the keynote speaker for the African American Intellectual Thought Symposium from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in the Alice Peters Auditorium (Peters Building Room 191).

McClendon will speak about his book, “Black Christology and the Quest for Authenticity,” which expounds on the methodologies and arguments that guide how black theology specifically affirms black Christology as the definitive paradigm for authentic Christianity. Fresno State philosophy professors Dr. Andrew Fiala and Dr. Robert Maldonado will serve as panelists.

The event is free, open to the public and is sponsored by the Africana Studies Program. INFO: Dr. Malik Simba at maliks@csufresno.edu or at 559.278.5143
