Canadian film and television director Don Millar will lead a discussion following the screening of his film, “Botero,” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the Peters Education Center Auditorium next to the Save Mart Center at the Student Recreation Center.

Fernando Botero is one of the world’s most popular living artists, with millions of fans transcending cultures across the globe. The film brings together the man and his art to capture Botero’s essence, the quiet resolve and strength of character that allowed him to overcome poverty, decades of harsh criticism and the tragic death of his 4-year-old son.

Parking is free after 4 p.m. on Fridays with no permit necessary in lots P3 or P2. The screening is sponsored by the French Program along with the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures and Center for Creativity and the Arts.
