Discover the artistry of craft beer with the Division of Continuing and Global Education’s Brewing Basics class, launching as part of the Brew U series on Tuesday, April 2. Classes will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 2 through 18, at the Kremen Education building (Room 140).

Instructor Ryan Hansen, the founder and chief consultant for Big Pop Brewery Consulting, will help students delve into the rich history, premium ingredients and intricate processes that shape exceptional brews. Students can gain valuable insights into the dynamic craft brewery industry, exploring not only the flavors but also the business aspects behind the craft.

On April 9, participants will enjoy an off-site beer-tasting extravaganza, expanding their palates and appreciating the artistry behind each sip. On April 18, the class will embark on an off-site brewery tour, providing firsthand experience of a real brewery’s inner workings, from brewing to bottling, alongside insights from industry experts.

To enroll, students must be 21 or older and pay a $200 class fee. Registration is recommended by March 26 to secure a spot.
