Robert Costa, chief election and campaign correspondent for CBS News, will return to the San Joaquin Valley for The Maddy Institute’s Speaker Series at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Fresno State’s Satellite Student Union.

Costa — known for his insightful reporting on national politics and co-authorship of the New York Times bestseller “Peril” with Bob Woodward — will engage with the community in an in-depth conversation on the state of the White House, the dynamics within Congress and what lies ahead for both parties.

Based in Washington, D.C., Costa is a regular contributor to major CBS programs such as “CBS Evening News,” “Face the Nation,” “CBS Mornings” and “CBS News Sunday Morning.” As part of his coverage, Costa has interviewed high-profile leaders ranging from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to President-elect Donald Trump during his first term.

“We are excited to welcome Robert Costa to the San Joaquin Valley,” said Blake Zante, executive director of The Maddy Institute. “Costa’s work embodies the critical importance of journalism in shaping informed public discourse and strengthening our democracy. His visit will offer our community an invaluable opportunity to hear from one of the leading figures in political reporting.”

Following his presentation, Costa will participate in a moderated Q&A session, providing attendees the chance to engage directly with his insights.

The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, and those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by Nov. 29 at https://speaker-series-with-robert-costa.eventbrite.com
