History professor Dr. Lori Clune will host a presentation about nuclear war history and current events from noon to 1:30 p.m Friday, March 28, at the Social Sciences quad.
The free event is open to the public and will explore current challenges, and include info about organizations tied to anti-nuclear activities. A reflective “Die-In” portion will follow and provide 10 minutes for quiet reflection.
Clune is an expert on the U.S.-Soviet Union relations, espionage, and the Rosenberg spy ring and court case in the 1940s and early ‘50s.
She was featured in the March 2024 Netflix documentary series “Turning Point: The Bomb and The Cold War” which also covers U.S., Soviet Union, Russia and related international events since World War II.
The event is part of a weekly series through May featuring faculty from the College of Social Sciences.
