The College Assistance Migrant Program and the Cross Cultural and Gender Center will present the annual Cesar Chavez Commemoration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Peace Garden.

This celebration will include music, performances, prominent speakers and a resource fair featuring more than 25 organizations. The Latino Faculty and Staff Association is sponsoring paletas, Mexican-style ice cream pops.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Raul Z. Moreno, a longtime Fresno State staff member who served as CAMP director and coordinator of University Migrant Services. He continues to advocate for migrant students through his organization, the Moreno Institute.

This event will conclude with a ceremony garlanding the statue of Cesar Chavez, allowing all participants to place flowers at the base of the statue. All individuals, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin, who are interested in this event are welcome to participate.
